The rest of this stack of books arrived in the mail yesterday. It is my reading list for spring semester for one class. That’s right, just one class: ENGL 6350 Genre Studies – Young Adult. Twelve lovely books. Unfortunately, I’ve only read one of these books before today. I’ve wanted to read many of them for a while but never had the time. I’m making the time now!
Most of them have the shiny ‘medals’ on the cover… National Book Award, Newbery Honor, Michael L. Printz Award, Coretta Scott King Author Honor, etc. The list, from top to bottom (in no particular order other than how they fell from the shipping box):

Class doesn’t start until January 14th, but I wish there was a way to get the syllabus early. I’d like to get a head start now since I don’t have much else to do besides read other books. I just know if I started reading one that it would be the last one that needs reading.
Another thing about the class is that it’s taught by a published YA author, which I think is cool. Her book isn’t anywhere on the list though! I may buy it anyway and read over the summer.
